“That was number one, Hit ‘Em Up by Tupac featuring The Outlawz, the most vicious, angry record ever made!”
Eminem has spoken about how the Tupac and Biggie beef changed hip-hop forever and ranks ‘Hit ‘Em Up’ by Tupac and The Outlawz as the greatest diss track of all time.
On Christmas day, Eminem and Shade 45 delivered their 12 Days of Diss-Mas list, a list of their favorite diss tracks of all time. Providing their expertise are Def Jam exec Paul Rosenberg and the “Haitian Elf” DJ Whoo Kid, counting down the Diss-Mas list.
Speaking on Tupac and The Outlawz scathing diss track ‘Hit ‘Em Up’, Eminem said “That, I feel like, was the first time I ever heard anybody get that personal on a diss. Most of it was personal, below-the-belt jabs, but it was done so well and the record was just so crazy,” said Eminem. “The Tupac – Biggie thing was tough because you liked them both. You were stuck in this weird thing where you were bumpin’ a Tupac diss record, then you were bumpin’ something from Biggie that might be dissing Tupac in it.”
