Apple Announces New Health Features for iWatch Series 4 ECG And Fall Alert Feature
Apple introduced new health features for the new design iWatch 4 series. Apple’s smart watch can detect if you for whatever reason take a fall. Once the iWatch detects you have fallen it will automatically give you the option for emergency service. What happen if in the event you are nonresponsive after the fall? After a minute the iWatch will automatically contact first responders and give them your current location.
The iWatch also comes equipped with electrodes which can measure the electric activity in the heart. Such activity can detect irregular heartbeats and heart diseases that could lead to strokes and heart attacks.
The next innovation presented by Apple on Wednesday was the ability for a user to conduct an Electrocardiogram (ECG). This marks the first time ever an over the counter ECG can be purchased. The ECG can be used via the digital crown and enables you to take an EKG anything you want. Within 30 seconds data is collected and stored in a PDF file which can be shared with your doctor.
President of the American Heart Association, Ivor Benjamin on Apple’s innovation, “Capturing meaningful data about a persons heart in real time is changing the way we practice medicine.”
