All Eyez On Me On This Day

On this day 22 years ago, February 13, 1996. Tupac released his fourth studio album titled All Eyez On Me.

All Eyez On Me landed #1 on both the Billboard 200 and the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts. The album reached diamond status in sales back in 2014.

After signing a contract with Death Row in prision, releasing a double album in All Eyez positioned Tupac an album short of completeing his 3 album agreement. Tupac would complete his obligation with the label after completing his Makaveli album.

All Eyez On Me produced five singles each with a music video the most from any Tupac albums including any of Tupac’s posthumous albums. Two of these singles hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 How Do U Want It and California Love.

All Eyez On Me featured various artists including many of his label mates such as Dr.Dre, Snoop Dogg, The Dogg Pound and Nate Dogg. Other featured contributions were the Outlawz, Redman and Method Man.

Much of the album saw production by Johnny J with songs such as How Do U Want It, Picture Me Rollin and All Eyez On Me. Daz Dillinger also made an impact on the album with songs like 2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted and I Ain’t Mad At Cha.

New York Marvel artist Sam Spratt paid homage to the classic album by painting a Spider-Man version of All Eyez On Me.

R&B singer Monica would also show love for Tupac with her 2002 All Eyez On Me album. The album featured another song with a familiar Tupac sound as the Hail Mary beat was sampled in the song Deserve. Deserve featured Outlawz member Hussein Fatal.
