Who got the Juice
Tomorrow, 17th January, marks the 26th anniversary of the release of the Tupac movie Juice where he made his film debut, in which he stars as the character Roland Bishop.
The movie was released in the United States on 17th January 1992. Speaking on his character Tupac described him as ‘a psychotic, insecure, very violent and short tempered individual’
The 1992 movie explores the lives of four black youths, growing up together in Harlem. To gain Respect and power, also known as Juice, the friends rob a convenience store but it takes an unexpected turn.
This pivotal moment in the movie tests the friendship and trust of the four youths and deals with the concept of fear verses respect.
The movie was directed by Ernest R Dickerson and also starred Omar Epps, Khalil Kain, Samuel L Jackson, Treach and Queen Latifah.
In between shooting scenes Tupac was seen sitting with a notebook, said to be writing lyrics for upcoming songs.
