New Apple iPad 9.7
Apple Introduces A New "Student" iPad
Apple has released a new iPad to the family. This one targeted to the educational market. Although Apple's intentions are for the school kids, many families will also show interest for their own kids at home.
The sixth generation iPad will go for an affordable price at $329 with a $299 student discount. The $329 version is a 32GB Wi-Fi model. For $100 extra you can get 128GB of storage and also for $130 extra for the LTE version.
For the very first time a non pro version of the iPad will be compatible with the Apple Pencil. Its processor an A10 is the same processor that was used in the iPhone 7. Also included is a 10 hour battery, up to 300MBps LTE and Touch ID. Here are more specs for the new iPad 9.7:
9.4 x 6.6 x 0.29 inches
2048 x 1536 resolution
Apple Pencil support
A10 Fusion processor
8-megapixel rear camera
1.2-megapixel front camera
Touch ID home button (First-gen)
Smart Connector is not supported
Two stereo speakers located at the bottom
Non Laminated Oleophobic coating
This lower cost at the end comes with a price. As the saying goes you get what you paid for. The iPad isn't built as sturdy as higher end iPad versions. The lack of no waterproofing, glue throughout and a non-replaceable chagrining port can only result in a very difficult repair process if damaged. The only positive is what seems to be a easy replacement of the screen in case it cracks. Nether less the overall is built and questionable for the reason that Apple targets the new iPad for an environment which many hands will access these new iPads.
Apple has emphasized purchasing a Bluetooth keyboard such as the Logitech iPad Slim Folio: Case with Wireless Keyboard with Bluetooth (Black) - iPad 5th and 6th generation (2018 release)
With a case and a solid screen protector, overall you cant go wrong with the new iPad 9.7. While Apple targets schools I believe this iPad will excel tremendously this year during the holiday season.
