WhatsApp Service Returns After Global Outage
WhatsApp, the popular messaging service, suffered a global outage for an hour on December 31st
A spokeswoman for WhatsApp said “WhatsApp users around the world experienced a brief outage today that has now been resolved. We apologize for the inconvenience” The cause of the outage was not immediately known.
In other WhatsApp news,the messaging app dropped the support for BlackBerry OS, BlackBerry 10, Windows Phone 8.0 and older platforms, from December 31st. This was supposed to happen in June 2017 but WhatsApp extended support until now.
If you are using the app on any of these devices, the app could stop working without any warning in early 2018. Speaking on the move a company spokesman said “These platforms don’t offer the kind of capabilities we need to expand our app’s features in the future. If you use one of these affected mobile devices, we recommend upgrading”
