Tupac New York Restaurant

Tupac’s dream will become a reality this weekend in New York. Tupac’s vision for the restaurant Powamekka Café is set to take over New York for three days April 7-9. The estate will make this happen by transforming New York’s Lower East Side Restaurant Sweet Chick.

Tom Whalley says Tupac’s creativeness was limitless:

“He was constantly working on ideas and plans that reached far beyond music and film. One of the things he was extremely passionate about was opening a restaurant; he even sketched out plans and a concept for a menu. We are proud to bring Tupac’s Powamekka Café to life.”

Part of that menu consist of his cousin Jamala’s fried chicken wings. The café makeover will also highlight Tupac’s music memorabilia and photos from Tupac. Poweamekka Café will be located at 178 Ludlow St, New York 10002.

CEO, Co-Founder and creative director John Seymour is honored for the opportunity:

“Sweet Chick is about community and culture at its core, and so was Tupac. As a restaurant, we embody everything he represents — music, style, food, and neighborhood. We are honored to be hosting the Powamekka Café pop-up at Sweet Chick, and help bring his vision to life with the dishes that he loved.”

Co-Owner Nasir Jones in 2002 appeared on Tupac’s Better Dayz Album in a song called Thugz Mansion.

If you are able to visit the café this weekend please email photos videos and/or your written experience and we will feature it on O-4-L.COM!! Email tupacnewyork@o-4-l.com
